Hi, I’m Dr. Kalyn Jolivette.

As a trained medical physician with over a decade of experience in the medical field, I have dedicated my career to improving health and well-being. Beginning my journey as a student, I envisioned a lifelong commitment to helping others, culminating in the completion of my Internal Medicine residency in 2016. During this time, I became particularly drawn to hospital medicine, where I experienced significant personal and professional growth, navigating both challenges and rewarding moments for which I am profoundly grateful.

My interest in Lifestyle Medicine emerged as I sought a deeper understanding of holistic health approaches and root causes of disease. Discovering this field led me to engage in independent study and ultimately earn board certification. Recognizing the importance of health coaching in enhancing patient well-being, I further pursued education through the Wellcoaches certification course to refine my coaching skills.

In recent years, personal challenges—including the effects of the pandemic, starting a family, and managing my own health—prompted a period of reflection and reassessment. This experience inspired me to establish my own health coaching practice, where I aim to leverage my newfound perspective and expertise to better serve my patients and community.

Throughout my journey, my personal values have played a vital role in shaping my career. These values form the foundation of my coaching practice, which is dedicated to guiding clients as they navigate their own paths toward improved health, peace, and joy. I have a particular passion for addressing metabolic health conditions and supporting individuals during the peripartum period. While a medical degree is not a prerequisite for certification as a health coach, I believe my medical background enhances the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of the health plans and goals I develop with my clients.

My Approach

We will center our approach on "virtue-based" coaching, emphasizing the use of your existing strengths to help you navigate new medical diagnoses and challenges in your healthcare journey. Simultaneously, we will explore your core values—your personal "why"—to empower you in showing up each day with purpose and clarity.

Values = fundamental beliefs

Virtues = personal characteristics and strengths

——————

Values (your why) + Virtues (your how)= favorable behavioral change

Values

Values are fundamental beliefs or principles that guide an individual's behavior, decisions, and interactions. They reflect what is most important to a person and influence their priorities, actions, and judgments. Values often stem from personal experiences, cultural background, and societal norms and play a crucial role in shaping one's character and worldview. They serve as a moral compass, helping individuals navigate various aspects of life and align their actions with their core beliefs

Virtues

Virtues are characteristics that contribute to ethical behavior and positive moral character. They are often viewed as the ideal qualities that one should strive to develop and exhibit in their actions and interactions. Common examples of virtues include honesty, courage, compassion, and integrity. Virtues can align with values. Virtues help guide individuals in making morally sound decisions and leading a principled life.
